Where Can I Purchase?
Q. I tried to purchase NasalCEASE at a CVS Pharmacy and was told they don't carry it.
A. NasalCEASE is in all CVS pharmacies in the First Aid Section near the Band-Aids. It is typically on the 2nd or 3rd shelf down at eye level. Unfortunately the pharmacy and other store personnel don't always realize NasalCEASE is on the shelf. If you have a problem, ask for the Store Manager or Assistant Manager and tell them that the CVS Item # for NasalCEASE is 337868. Don't take no for an answer!
Q. Is NasalCEASE available at other pharmacy chains such as Walgreen, Rite-Aid, Brooks Eckerd,Wal-Mart, Target, etc.?
A. Currently no, but we expect that it will be in several additional pharmacy chains by the end of this year. In the meantime you can ask the individual stores to order NasalCEASE in for you from one of two major wholesalers: Cardinal item # 3723038 or McKesson item #1436898. They should be able to get it for you the next day.
Q. Is NasalCEASE available at any local independent pharmacies?
A. Yes, NasalCEASE is available at several independent pharmacies. You can click on the "Where to Buy" link on this website and a state menu will come up. Click on your state and look for stocking pharmacies listed by city with the pharmacy
telephone #.
You can also ask your local pharmacy to stock it for you and/or have your doctor ask the pharmacy to stock it for you and other patients. The pharmacy can then choose to order NasalCEASE from a wholesaler and/or can call Catalina Healthcare direct to order it.
Q. Can I order NasalCEASE directly from the manufacturer?
A. Yes you can order NasalCEASE direct either by calling our toll free # 800-650-NOSE (6673) or online on this website by clicking on "Order Online"
Q. If I ask my pharmacy chain of choice to stock NasalCEASE will it have an impact?
A. Absolutely! If enough consumers keep asking for NasalCEASE, it will speed up getting it on the shelf. Strength in numbers does work!
Will NasalCEASE Work For My Nosebleeds?
Q. Does NasalCEASE work for all nosebleeds?
A. Ninety-five percent of all nosebleeds are what are called anterior nosebleeds (nosebleeds in the lower part of the nasal cavity). NasalCEASE will work for all anterior nosebleeds regardless of the cause.
Q. What are the specific causes of these anterior nosebleeds that NasalCEASE can stop?
A. Recurring nosebleeds have multiple causes, resulting in a year round problem. Major related causes include:
- Allergy sufferers who dry up their nasal passages with Rx and/or OTC medications and start to experience nosebleeds
- People who live in very dry climates
- Households becoming very dry, particularly in the winter with the heat
- People taking blood thinner Rx medications (Coumadin and Plavix) and/or baby aspirin.
- Sufferers of chronic blood based diseases, such as hemophilia and Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT)
- Oncology patients whose treatments can cause nosebleeds
- People suffering from hypertension
- Trauma based nosebleeds from sports and/or activities in cold or high altitudes
- Trauma based nosebleeds from excessive nose picking or excessive nose blowing
- People having anatomical issues with their nasal passages.
Over 90 % of nosebleeds are not life threatening. However they are embarrassing and very disruptive to one's life, causing the sufferer to hide in the bathroom while trying to stop the bleeding. Often sufferers are unable to stop the bleeding and end up in the ER.
The lack of an effective, easy to use self treatment for recurring nosebleeds has left both sufferers and physicians frustrated!
Your nosebleeds can be caused by any of the above reasons and NasalCEASE will work quickly and easily to stop the bleeding.
Q. What does NasalCEASE actually do?
A. NasalCEASE is natural based bio-polymer, which is manufactured into an easy to insert small nasal packing and individually sterile packed for storage and portability.
It is easily inserted until it is flush with the base of the nasal cavity, so that you are not walking around with anything hanging out of the nose.
As soon as NasalCEASE comes in contact with blood, it releases calcium, which is a coagulant that actively aids in quickly stopping the bleeding.
NasalCEASE is very absorbent (absorbing up to twenty times its weight). This allows the user to insert it and forget about it until it is removed after thirty minutes. This means no fussing with it during your nosebleed. The blood is not coming through onto your clothing and therefore you can get right back to what you were doing. You don't have to hide in the bathroom trying to stop your nosebleed.
NasalCEASE doesn't stick to newly formed clots and therefore doesn't cause rebleeding as other methods of treatment do. As NasalCEASE absorbs your blood, the sodium in your blood interacts with the bio-polymer changing it from dry to moist, This moist mass comes out very easily without sticking to clots.
Q. Will one NasalCEASE packing stop all anterior nosebleeds?
A. Ninety percent of anterior nosebleeds would be categorized as minor to moderate. One NasalCEASE packing should work to stop these nosebleeds. Occasionally, frequent nosebleed sufferers may experience a more heavy nosebleed. Upon removal of the NasalCEASE packing after thirty minutes, the sufferer may notice there is still some bleeding. Inserting a second NasalCEASE packing for an additional thirty minutes should bring such a heavy nosebleed under control.
Q. Why should I consider using NasalCEASE versus inexpensive tissues, gauze or cotton balls?
A. NasalCEASE is a much more user friendly way of treating a not so nice problem. NasalCEASE releases calcium to actively stop the bleeding. NasalCEASE allows you to quickly get back to what you were doing when the nosebleed started. NasalCEASE minimizes the embarrassment of the nosebleed, particularly when it occurs outside the privacy of your home.
